Cryptanthus warren-loosei Type

An interesting species hailing from Bahia Brazil described in 1993. The plant is very similar to Cryptanthus bahianus being stoloniferous, having stiff, narrow leaves with undulating margins, and colored a brownish-copper, but less succulent in nature. A mature plant can attain a diameter of 10-inches.
This is the Type form ex Elton Leme.

Cryptanthus 'Faux Menescal'

This Ed Edmiston hybrid is a cultivar of ‘Jet Age’ x lacerdae ‘Menescal’ having 10+ lanceolate leaves forming a medium plant to 12″ in diameter with a full round, open, flat rosette. The plants are larger than Cryptanthus lacerdae ‘Menescal,’ but lacks the long stolons. The light chocolate background leaf color is marked with silvery grey central and marginal longitudinal stripes. The bottom of the leaf is covered in a medium dense lineated white scurf.

Cryptanthus 'Covergirl'

This Carole Richtmyer hybrid is a cultivar of ‘Corinne’ x marginatus having 10+ lanceolate leaves forming a medium plant to over 18″ in diameter with an open oval shape. The lime green midrib of the leaves is covered in soft pink and edged with a lightly serrated darker green edge. The leaves are covered with a fine layer of scurf giving them a matte finish.

Cryptanthus 'Arctic Wolf'

A hybrid cultivar of Cryptanthus ‘Hapa Haole’ x ‘Elaine’ by Australian, David Cross. A full rosette of leaves to about 18 inches across. The leaves are banded with silver over a background color of dark brown to reddish-brown, with slightly wavy margins.

An interesting stoloniferous plant with stiff greenish-coppery leaves in an open rosette. The center cup flushes orange when in bloom and the stoloniferous habit makes an interesting cluster.

Neoregelia 'Noggin'

A Ray Coleman cultivar from the same grex that produced ‘Unseasonably Hot‘ though it doesn’t look anything like it. This plant is a beauty in a full rosette of glossy, yellow tinted green leaves that have a reddish wash and a veneer of red spots and flecks overall. The leaf tips are apiculate and red. Moderate spines on the margins of the 1.5 inch wide leaves. A choice plant!

This newly discovered plant from Panama, found by Chester Skotak and described by Harry Luther is small species to about 8 to 12 inches across with the general shape and color of a Guz. sanguinea when not in bloom, but has a short bright-red cone-shaped inflorescence with large yellow flowers. Grows with little trouble in warm to intermediate conditions. Suitable for terrariums.

The hybridizer and parents of this cultivar is not known. Having 10+ lanceolate leaves forming a medium plant to 18″ in diameter with an open round shape. Chocolate-brown in color with regular silver-white barring from center to tip that extend from edge to edge with strongly serrated undulating leaf edges. The undersides of the leaves have medium dense white scurf.

Aloe 'Snowstorm' is a compact plant with dense irregular banding with white teeth. It is star shaped and form a dense cluster.




Aloe 'Doran Black' f2

A selfing of an outstanding miniature Aloe hybrid. It superficially resembles the ‘Doran Black’ with similar coloration. The main difference is the growth habit, more upright than the parent plant, with slightly narrower leaves and more leaves, in an upright rosette. The inflorescence is quite long, 18 inches or so and nodding. The flowers are dark pinkish red, tubular bell shaped with white tips to the petals. Keep in a well draining mix and in warm, bright conditions.
