A nice little hybrid that is as yet unnamed, but still nice. A very full 12 inch rosette of half-inch wide, discolor leaves, green on top and purple below. The inflorescence, which is about 20 inches tall, is lance-shaped and light yellow. Nice for small space shaded gardens or terrariums.

Formerly known as Tillandsia cyanea variegated. A once very rare form with beautifully white striped leaves. The inflorescence is the same as a the typical form, bright pink with large, fragrant purple flowers. Has been around for a while in some private collections, but is still not often seen for sale.

A cultivar of (Billbergia nutans x Aechmea recurvata v. benrathii) Stewart. A cute, clumping, easy to grow miniature bigeneric hybrid. Slender, stiff, moderately spiny leaves of light green, form upright, clustering rosettes to about 8 to 10 inches tall. The inflorescence is fairly attractive, erect to nodding, with bright red bracts, streaked with grey trichomes and a cluster of violet trimmed, green flowers. Can take on a reddish cast if grown in strong light. Suitable for terrariums.

A hybrid by Lisa Vinzant. Resembles an Aechmea recurvata somewhat, but has softer leaves. Faint red bands and spots mark both sides of the leaves and the red intensifies when blooming. Makes a good terrarium plant with many water retaining leaf axials and matures at only about 8 inches tall. A shy bloomer but offsets readily.

This nice cross by Lisa Vinzant is a cultivar of Neoregelia chlorosticta ‘Marble Throat’ x Sincoraea (formerly Orthophytum) navioides. Of a size rather typical of many xSincoregelias, about 20 inches across or so with many narrow, stiff leaves in a very leafy rosette. The leaves are lime green and tint pinkish in strong light. At anthesis the center leaves blush deep fuchsia pink out the nearly the leaf tips. Flowers are light lavender in a nidular inflorescence.
