Azalea Pots
AZPOT-2
Somewhat squat plastic pots, three quarters as tall as wide, with drainage holes. This is the most common style of pot that we use here at Tropiflora and are pretty much the “industry standard” for most production of tropical plants and succulents.
We only stock in forest green. We do not carry other colors.
I love them! Great colors.
E6000 Glue
GLUE-0.18 OZ
Perfect for attaching plants to wood, cork or ceramic! Non-toxic, clear and quick-drying.
Dries fast and holds tight
Mesquite Charcoal Medium
MCM
Good drainage is key for the health of a potted plant. Mesquite charcoal is free of chemical additives, slow to decompose, helps drainage, provides air circulation for orchids, and grabs onto nutrients and toxins in any mix it is incorporated into.
Octagon Vanda Basket
OVB
Useful for many epiphytic plants and essential for Vanda culture. These sturdy, well made baskets are manufactured in Central America from Cedrela odorata, or Tropical Cedar, which has a cedar fragrance and looks like mahogany.
The source of this wood for baskets is mostly as a byproduct of furniture manufacturing, it is long lasting, non toxic to plants and resists rot. The galvanized wires that hold the slats together are of a heavy gauge to last for years.
Osmocote 18-5-12 Controlled Release Fertilizer
OSM
I mix Osmocote into my potting mix
2 lbs Osmocote to each 30 gallon tub of mix. It gives excellent results.

Sponge Rock - Extra Coarse
SR1
Sponge rock, also known by the name expanded perlite, is a very common ingredient in orchid mixes. Sponge rock decreases compaction of mix, increases aeration and retains moisture.
Tropiflora Succulent Mix
TSM
Tropiflora Succulent Mix – While we call this our ‘succulent mix’ we use this for many more things around the nursery. Succulents thrive in it under our rather wet, humid conditions and so do many plants such as terrestrial bromeliads, tuberous Arums, and others. It is a good quality mix that we have custom made for us in 50 yard loads.
The formula is:
- 20% Canadian Peat
- 45% small Fir Bark
- 35% coarse Perlite (Sponge Rock)
It has a pH of 6.0.
I started using this mix about 3 years ago and love it. It was time for me to repot many of my plants that I had learned were succulents. When I recycled the soil that I was using, I mixed the succulent mix with the recycled soil and my plants love it. They are healthier; leaves are stronger and brighter: and the flowers seem to bloom longer. I started using it for all my plants and trees. The mix adds the extra nutrients and lightens the soil for oxygen. Try it and you will continue using it and experimenting with it as I did.
