A cultivar of a hybrid by Mark Dimmitt of Tillandsia ferreyrae x bulbosa, named by N. Wong. Taller and larger and leafier than bulbosa, but most resembling that parent. A handsome plant with an egg-shaped, bulbous base and terete leaves that are mostly upright and somewhat wavy. Green with a slight veneer of silver trichomes, it blushes red on the upper leaves at anthesis. The inflorescence is tall, but not as tall as the foliage and bright reddish. Forms large clusters with time.

A rock dweller from Mexico's Tehuacan desert in the State of Puebla. Upright stiff silver leaves form a six inch vase. The inflorescence is a simple pink spike with tubular blue flowers. Does very well mounted.

Arching, thick, stiff, olive-green leaves edged maroon, tapering to a point and with large, sparse, hooked white antrorse spines. As with most xSincoregelias it needs to be watered regularly. xSincoregelias like to be fertilized, so if you are using water soluble fertilizer, then use once a month. If you are using time release, then apply it twice per year.
