xPitcohnia (Deuterocohnia longipetala 'Silver' x Pitcairnia burle-marxii) is a bi-generic hybrid made here at Tropiflora. Spineless silver green arching leaves. Grows to 24 inches tall and 24 inches across. 

An endemic rupicolous species that is native to Brazil. It is slow to propagate so it takes a while to have them available for sale. The plant forms a large open rosette, to over 24 inches across with recurving stiff glossy green leaves that have large spines. Prefers to be grown in bright light. 

A new 2024 release from Chester Skotak. A large grower that matures at 32 inches across. Medium green with white margins Numerous wavy cross-bands throughout the leaves. The veneer is bright red. Grows best in bright filtered light.

A colorful Orthophytum hybrid from Andy Siekkinen. Grows to 8 inches across. The recurving leaves are stiff, purple in color and covered with silver scurf.

A variegated sport of Dyckia encholirioides. Large green rosette of narrow leaves. The center leaves have yellow variegation. Grows best in bright light. Needs to be fertilized on a regular schedule to keep the variegation bright.

This is a spectacular, large-growing species, descended from plants grown from seed from Brazil. The plants have hundreds of narrow, strap-like, spiny leaves at maturity, recurving downward to form a graceful ball-like shape. This variety has wider leaves and develops a glaucous scurfing over the leaves. The one that we are offering is starting the develop the glaucous scurf.

 Encholirium species grow much like the genus Dyckia. Grow in bright filtered light. This species is monocarpic.

A cute, stoloniferous miniature of (punctatissima x Fireball) with an open shape and stiff, glossy leaves. A bronzy color with broken red banding and a red flush at anthesis make a nice show. Great for terrariums or hanging pots

A species with lanceolate leaves forming a small plant 4″ to 6" in diameter with a full round rosette shape.  The spiny, wavy margined brown-green leaves are striped with shades of brown and cream.  The undersides of the leaves have light dusting of white scurf.

One of Grace Goode's miniature hybrids. Discolor leaves with green on top and a lavender red underside. In strong filtered light red mottling will develop in the leaves. A good plant for hanging pot culture.
