A epiphytic cactus that blooms at night. It grows as a loose mass of long flat strappy leaves. It produces large white fragrant flowers in the warmer months of the year. the flowers can reach 8 inches in diameter. It prefers bright filtered light but not full sun.
Got the cutting in fine shape and have planted it. I am old so hope I will live to see it bloom!
Can’t wait for the bloom. I love epiphytic cactus. Works well in our salt air.

This succulent has above ground short fat purplish bulbs with leaves that has a bluish-green color and dark green shots. Bulbs have a glossy surface clothed in peeling, papery tunics that prevent water loss. Ledebouria is a genus of deciduous or weakly evergreen bulbs and found in India, Madagascar, and Africa (mostly southern Africa). It is found mostly in areas of summer rainfall in subtropical savannas and grasslands in the eastern and northeastern parts of southern Africa. There are a few species found in winter rainfall areas as well.

From Argentina, grows as a saxicole on exposed rock or epiphytically in scrubby thorn bush, almost always forming large clusters. This caulescent species has a rigid stem and short, stiff leaves, all a dark grayish color, and bears large and very fragrant, white flowers.

The source of this wood for baskets is mostly as a byproduct of furniture manufacturing, it is long lasting, non toxic to plants and resists rot. The galvanized wires that hold the slats together are of a heavy gauge to last for years.
