There aren't many hybrids made with the former Cryptanthus warasii, but this one is a neat hybrid by Nat DeLeon. The plant has silver leaves that are softer than the warasii with white flowers.

This Ed Edmiston hybrid is a cultivar of ‘Jet Age’ x lacerdae ‘Menescal’ having 10+ lanceolate leaves forming a medium plant to 12″ in diameter with a full round, open, flat rosette. The plants are larger than Cryptanthus lacerdae ‘Menescal,’ but lacks the long stolons. The light chocolate background leaf color is marked with silvery grey central and marginal longitudinal stripes. The bottom of the leaf is covered in a medium dense lineated white scurf.

A Harvey Kendall hybrid of unknown parentage, but most likely with Cryptanthus lacerdae 'Menescal' in its background. This plant has 12+ lanceolate leaves forming a small plant 8 to 10-inches in diameter with a full round form. Red-brown with typical Cryptanthus lacerdae scurf pattern on the leaves, the offsets are presented on stolons anywhere from 4 to 24-inches long . The underside of the leaves is lineated with light scurf.
