A new nothogenera: xSincorglaziovia is a hybrid created here by Ray Lemieux of (Neoglaziovia variegata x Sincoraea albopictum) and first published in the BSI Journal, Vol. 61 (5) Sep. Oct. 2012. Ray made the cross back in 2006 and when it finally bloomed for the first time in 2011 he thought he a recreated the pineapple! The inflorescence emerging between the stiff leaves looked a lot like the inflorescence of a pineapple. Of the many seed produced, only 1/3 germinated and only a single seedling survived!
An unusual plant with half inch wide leaves in an upright rosette taper to a point. The foliage is silver-gray below and glabrous reddish-purple above in good light, with faint cross bands of silver. Marginal spines are tiny, giving a more serrated than spiny appearance. The inflorescence is a cluster of short, green branches on a short scape and the flowers light pinkish lavender with an open corolla. A terrestrial, it grows in clusters with abundant offsets.

A Mark Dimmitt hybrid of streptophylla x pseudobaileyi. The shape of the plant is bulbous with silvery green foliage. Grows up to 16 inches with a soft pink and green branched inflorescence.
This cute little stoloniferous miniature has apple green leaves with cherry red tips. The leaf undersides have some gray scurf and light banding. Nice for mounting or a hanging pot due to its stoloniferous habit.
Paul Isley's cross 'Kendra' is a cultivar of bulbosa x baileyi. A vigorous hybrid that looks a bit like the baileyi parent but is much larger and more robust. The bulbous base is like that of the bulbosa and the terete leaves are silvery and sinuous. The inflorescence is quite tall, at least as long as the leaves and it branched, pinkish, with a silvery finish. Grows to about 18 inches tall, taller than either parent plant.
A larger clone of this familiar species, can reach over 12 inches across. An open rosette shape with light green leaves red speckled and red banded on the upper and lower sides. Red leaf tips and moderate spines finish the look. Used widely in many hybrids.

A hybrid of 'Tropiflora' x chiapensis by Steve Correale as yet not named or registered. A large rosette of dark pewter colored leaves that taper to a point. The inflorescence is a cluster of upright, nearly cylindrical branches of deep red with a coat of trichomes that mutes the intense color to a deep rose. The inflorescence is short but with the branches exceeds the leaves.

A cultivar of (caput-medusae x fasciculata) by a hybridist unknown to us. A good combination of the characteristics of both parents; somewhat bulbous based upright rosette of moderately stiff, thick textured leaves of silvery-gray color. The inflorescence is erect with long, slender, glossy branches of dark pink and yellow. Scape bracts are leaf-like. A handsome plant and easy to cultivate.

An interesting an unusual cross of (chlorophylla x fasciculata) by Bill Timm. A colorful and robust hybrid with the foliage of the fasciculata parent, and an inflorescence heavily influenced by the chlorophylla parent. The resulting cross is much more robust and easy to care for than the chlolophylla which is a more mesic plant. This one is more xeric in nature and thrives in ‘normal’ Tillandsia culture.
The foliage is long and slender in a gracefully arching rosette shape and is silvery with trichomes. The inflorescence is a tall scape with ten or more glossy red branches and long bracts which are more leaf-like and grayish. The flowers are long and tubular, two-tone white and purple.

A hybrid from our friend Bob Spivey in Louisiana. We don’t know what Bob was after when he made this cross, but he sure got a dukes mixture of colors and shapes.
Beautiful little plant arrived in good condition. Look forward to watching it grow. Thank you for the good packing.

A cultivar of (limbata x kegeliana) by Bill Timm, a large growing, unusual cross. The plant forms a large open rosette shape of many narrow, tapering silvery leaves. Very full, it can easily reach 30 inches across and over a foot tall without the inflorescence. The inflorescence is tall but has a short rachis with many long, semi-terete branches, some compound, numbering fifteen or so. The color is pale red to rusty orange over green, with purple flowers.

A nice looking hybrid (chiapensis x jalisco-monticola)by Steve Correale. This is the same cross as Dimmitt hybrid ‘Der Allerbeste’ but does not closely resemble it. A large growing plant with silvery, stiff leaves, and a thickly inflated, branched inflorescence, pink and green with a wash of silver trichomes.
