A cultivar of chiapensis x xerographica by John Arden. One of the most dramatic of all Tillandsia hybrids not only for its size but its form and color. Growing in a widely spreading open rosette to over 24 inches across, with gracefully arching, silvery leaves of heavy substance. The inflorescence is tall with up to ten or so thick branches starting just above the rosette. The rachis is glabrous, dark pink and the branches are pink at the base, turning green towards the tips and dusted with silvery trichomes. Very long lasting in color. No known cultural problems, but it is a slow grower. 

A nice looking plant with bulbous base and terete leaves that curve gracefully downward. A cultivar of (intermedia x caputmedusae) by noted Tillandsia breeder Mark Dimmitt and named by Paul Isley. 

The foliage is silvery and the inflorescence; multi-branched, bright red with purple flowers, is long lasting a showy. Forms clusters of plants in time and is especially easy to grow.

An apparent natural hybrid of (streptophylla x paucifolioides) named by Bill Timm. Bulbous based with pinkish-tinted, silvery leaves that curl inward or are deeply channeled, and an inflorescence of silvery branches and pink scape bracts. Very attractive. 

A perfect hybrid. Halfway between both parents (brachycaulos x concolor), this fine hybrid has the shape of a concolor with fairly stiff leaves, but a glabrous sheen like brachycaulos. At anthesis it blushes red with a short scape with long, stiff bracts and short red branches bearing deep violet flowers. Highly recommended.

A natural hybrid of (schiedeana x caput-medusae). Resembling both parents, it has a semi-bulbous base like that of caput-medusae, but with straight leaves of schiedeana. The color is white lepidote with a branched red to rarely green inflorescence, producing bi-colored flowers. 

duratii v. saxatilis x purpurea

A hybrid of (brachycaulos x schiedeana). Upright to 10 inches, it has rather narrow leaves and an attenuated inflorescence that forms a tightly capitate head. A late-spring bloomer, with rosy-blushing silvery leaves and yellow flowers. This is a very interesting and different-looking plant. 

A spectacular cross by Steve Correale of (chiapensis x fasciculata ‘Magnificent’) SC. A good blend of the parents; the basic shape of a fasciculata, but with more ‘substance’ and scurffing, like the chiapensis parent. The inflorescence has the shape of the fasciculata, which is an outstanding form native to northern Panama, but is a bit thicker and dusted with the silver thichomes of chiapensis. When well grown, one of the most spectacular of Tillandsias.

A pink form of this spectacular cross by Steve Correale of (chiapensis x fasciculata ‘Magnificent’) SC. A good blend of the parents; the basic shape of a fasciculata, but with more ‘substance’ and scurffing, like the chiapensis parent. The inflorescence has the shape of the fasciculata, which is an outstanding form native to northern Panama, but is a bit thicker and heavily dusted with the silver trichomes over red that makes the inflorescence fuzzy pink like that of the chiapensis parent. When well grown, one of the most spectacular of Tillandsias.
