LARGE GROWER
A spectacular plant in one of the more obscure genera of bromeliads. Grows upright at first to 18 inches or more, and then flattens out when in bloom and flushes orange in the center with yellow sepals and petals tipped with red in a nidular inflorescence. With good culture, can reach an astonishing 4 feet across!
A native of the Venezuelan 'Lost World’ or 'Guyana Shield' of Bolivar State where it grows as a lithophyte or terrestrial, in rock crevices or on moss covered rocks. This is one of the easiest to cultivate of the Navias now in cultivation. Grow in a terrestrial, but loamy, moist mix in moderate light. Pure water will aid good results.
