A little jewel. Upright, flaring tubes grow in clusters with red leaves, splashed with green flecks and light banding on reverse. The oversize, deep bluish-purple, fragrant flowers are stunning. A rare form. Terrarium suitable.

An old Hummel hybrid from the ‘60s or ‘70s of unreported parentage that has remarkable resemblance to the ‘new’ carcharodon ‘Tiger’ crosses so prevalent nowadays. A small, compact grower with spiny, bronzy, pink tipped leaves bearing many red bars and connected spots. Colorful plant for small spaces and a good terrarium subject.

This cultivar has been around for many years, but is still not common in collections. A real little beauty, 6 inches tall or so, with an upright, almost tubular shape and slightly bulbous base. The leaves are green, tipped in red, and heavily mottled with white towards the center of the cup. Flowers are white.
