Neoregelia 'Zoe'
3024
This early Skotak hybrid is a cultivar of ‘Fireball’ x ?. Unreported parentage. A small beauty almost the same size and shape of the ‘Fireball’ parent, with the same stoloniferous habit. A nicely variegated plant with reddish leaves in good light and light white to pinkish variegation.
The variegation is in the form of multiple thin stripes or lineations up the center of each leaf. It is a great plant for hanging baskets, for mounting and for use in terrariums.
Tropiflora is great - The staff is friendly and knowledgable. The bromeliads are beautful and a great selection. As alwyas a greta experience. Thx Dave
ZWe like everything we bought at TROPIFLORA recently. The Neoregelia "Zoe" was especially nice. The staff at TROPIFLORA is exceptional!
Neoregelia species Sao Sebastio SP
6838
This is an as yet unidentified Neoregelia species from Sao Sebastiao, Sao Paulo, Brazil. Wish we knew what this one is, it’s a beauty. Still undescribed, it has a resemblance to chlorosticta, but is not. An upright rosette of apple-green leaves, mottled with white, pink and red, with bright red tips. Pretty and unusual. Hopefully it will one day be described as a new species.

Octagon Vanda Basket
OVB
Useful for many epiphytic plants and essential for Vanda culture. These sturdy, well made baskets are manufactured in Central America from Cedrela odorata, or Tropical Cedar, which has a cedar fragrance and looks like mahogany.
The source of this wood for baskets is mostly as a byproduct of furniture manufacturing, it is long lasting, non toxic to plants and resists rot. The galvanized wires that hold the slats together are of a heavy gauge to last for years.

Pachypodium horombense

THIS PLANT IS ON C.I.T.E.S. AND CANNOT BE EXPORTED
A really nice, short, fat species from Madagascar with stiff conical spines covering the caudex and branches. The deciduous foliage is stiff and light green. One of the showiest bloomers of the genus, producing a profusion of bright yellow bell-shaped flowers with flaring corollas. Blooms in small containers, never gets too big.
Pachypodium lamerei

THIS PLANT IS ON C.I.T.E.S. AND CANNOT BE EXPORTED
A pachycaul native to Madagascar where it attains tree-like dimensions. In cultivation it responds to pot size and will remain dwarfed if kept in smaller containers. The silvery trunk is thick and covered with heavy spines and is crowned with light green, six to ten inch leaves. Very easy to cultivate and useful in xeriscaping in frost free areas. Makes a good house plant, and often goes by the name of 'Madagascar Palm' but of course, it is not palm at all.
Pachypodiums go dormant in winter and lose their leaves. Do not be alarmed by this natural leaf drop.

Pachypodium mikea

THIS PLANT IS ON C.I.T.E.S. AND CANNOT BE EXPORTED
Pachypodium mikea from the Mikea Forest, south of Horombe, Madagascar is a species that eluded description for a long time. It was confused with Pachypodium gaeyii. The two species grow together and have similar cigar shaped shaped trunks. Pachypodium mikea has white flowers with yellow throats where gaeyii has cream colored flowers.
I love to see which Pachypodiums grow in our humidity. I’ve seen a lot in habitat but most are from winter rainfall areas of Africa and Madagascar.
