This is one of Dennis Heckart's creations. The cross is Billbergia sanderiana x Billbergia vittata 'Domingos Martin'. Characteristics of both parents come through when looking at this plant. The leaves are medium green in color. The leaves are banded and spotted with white. Noticeable black spines occur along the leaf edges. At anthesis the inflorescence is a pink pendant.

Billbergia 'LOL' (Muriel Waterman x Hallelujah) is a hybrid by Marty Baxley. Tall wide tube of purple with silver bands. The plants are darker in color than the one displayed here. Grows best in bright filtered light.

An interesting little shrub-like, caudiciform tree from Oaxaca, Mexico with a thickly swollen trunk and tan to reddish peeling bark. The dense branches have small obovate, deciduous leaves and bear tiny, aromatic fruits. Great for bonsai work. The leaves may turn bright colors if exposed to cool temps in the fall of the year.
