Tillandsia 'Pink Sorbet'
8129
A hybrid of T. chiapensis x capitata 'Rubra' (Chiapas) by Pamela Koide-Hyatt that is a good representation of both parents. It has the overall shape of the capitata parent; an upright rosette of arching leaves and an inflorescence that is a cluster of branches forming a tight head, with long, curling scape bracts. The leaves are thick and leathery, like the chiapensis parent, and keep the pinkish-silver coloration. The branches are bright, silvery pink. Plant is 25 cm tall with spike, 35-40 cm diameter. Triangular leaves, to 20 cms. long, are covered with fine dense trichomes. Leaf bases are 3.5-4 cm wide. Short, semi-recessed, slightly-branched pink spathe has purple petals. Differs from hybrid T. 'Coconut Grove' as T. 'Pink Sorbet' is always pink, never red and a different clone/color of the variable species Tillandsia capitata used as pollen parent.
*VIPP plants are Small, not in bloom

Tillandsia 'Pink Velvet'
2745
C.I.T.E.S. - The harrisii parent makes this plant ineligible for shipping outside of the U.S. Sorry!
(One of the parent crosses, harrisii, is on CITES)
This is a natural hybrid of (capitata x harrisii) from Guatemala. An open rosette with white lepidote foliage that blushes pink in bloom to over 12 inches across. Blue flowers. Very attractive and long lasting.

Tillandsia 'PJ's Prize'

I'm very happy to receive the T. 'PJ's Prize'. Thank you very much.
Tillandsia 'Pruinariza'
6578
A hybrid made in the 1970s by Luis Ariza Julia of the Dominican Republic. A cultivar of Til. ariza-juliae x pruinosa, both species native to the Dominican Republic. The plant is a small grower to about 10 inches tall but with terete leaves and a small bulbous base. The color is gray-silver with heavy trichomes.
The inflorescence is a simple spike of pink about half as tall as the foliage. Easily forms clusters and is well suited to mounting. Grow in bright light out of full sun.

Tillandsia 'Purple Passion'
5306
A clone of (seleriana x tricolor) by Bill Timm. A unusual hybrid that produces a bulbous base with upright, terete leaves dusted with silvery trichomes. The inflorescence is branched, rose-red with blue flowers and emerges from the leaves to one side of the rosette.
*VIPP plants budded as of 4/25/2025

Tillandsia 'Purple Punch'

Tillandsia 'Queen Cobra'
3238
A dramatic Steve Correale cross of Till. chiapensis x Till. botteri. This is a grex sibling to T. 'King Cobra', with differences mainly found in the overall size of the plant and shape of the inflorescence. A large grower with a loose rosette shape that can reach 20 inches across and 20 inches tall. The leaves are thick and leathery, heavily scurfed with silver trichomes, silvery but tinting pinkish-red in strong light. The inflorescence can be 30 inches tall with long, thick, upright and curving branches of dark pink-red.

Tillandsia 'Queen Colossus'
9168
We discovered this natural hybrid in the greenhouse where our flexuosas grow, directly alongside our streptophyllas. A giant grower (flexuosa 'Giant Form' x streptophylla) named for its huge size and regal appearance. Mature plants measure 2 ft wide and 3 ft tall. The inflorescence is a single spike with multiple branches and a dark dusky pink with purple blooms. Spectacular.
