An interesting Bolivian species that often retains its ’juvenile’ leaf structure, that of a more-or-less cylindrical stem, covered with short spines. Later the plants will form triangled leaves with undulating margins and stiff, hair-like spines at the aerolae. A lithophyte in nature, it grows erect until the stems become to heavy to stand. A shy bloomer with white flowers.
This plant is on C.I.T.E.S. and cannot be exported.
