One of the smallest species of Hohenbergia. Native to the thorn-scrub forests of the caatinga near Plan Alto, Bahia, Brazil. A plant to only about 18 inches tall forms an upright rosette of stiff, silvery-green leaves more silvery below, come to a pointed tip. Leaves have spiny margins on the upper half and smooth below with dark brown bases. The inflorescence is a 24 inch scape of pink with clustered branches with a coating of whitish wool. The flowers are blue.
