THIS PLANT IS ON C.I.T.E.S. AND CANNOT BE EXPORTED

A very full and much-branched form with slender stems with internodes spaced at under an inch. The stems are cylindrical in newer growth and somewhat angled on old growth. The growing tips, last segments of the stems, are somewhat spiny with tiny bristles or hairs that are shed with age. Flowers are open and whitish and the fruits white to pinkish. Native to Brazil where it is reported to grow as a terrestrial in the sands of the restinga as well as on rocks and on trees. In cultivation it is a strong grower forming very full clumps in a relatively short time. We have not bloomed ours yet, but we obtained our original plant from one of the authorities in the genus.

The older growth may have some blemishes! Picture shown is of a specimen sized plant.
