A fine species from southern Brazil where it grows epiphytically or as a saxicole in seasonally dry forest. It has rounded stems that are fairly thick, sub-erect then pendant, branching out in whorls to form a dense hanging cluster that can reach 15 feet or more. The color is green, tinted red in strong light with fairly large, over a half inch, white flowers followed by red (occasionally white) fruits. In strong light the stems become red and the skin has very faint ribs or wrinkles.
