One of the tight, stiff-leaved, stoloniferous varieties from the rocky hills of Bahia. Formerly this species was known variously as pabstiana, intermedia and others, but has been now consolidated as bahiana. However, the uniquely different looking plants are still maintained by most collectors as different clones. This one is fairly new, and came from the collection of Elton Leme. It is reddish in foliage when grown bright and blushes an ever-brighter pinkish-red at anthesis. As a member of the Longipetalopsis subgenus, it has strikingly large, decorative blue flowers.
