This is a very rare plant from the vicinity of Serra, in Espirito Santo, Brazil that grows as a lithophyte at about 200m of altitude. A moderately large rosette of narrowly triangular leaves, tapering to a point. The leaves are silvery, very thick in cross section and superficially resembles Vriesea appariciana. The inflorescence is simple, a spike with white tipped yellowish floral bracts and white flowers. Our plant is a piece of the type specimen. Selby # (type) SEL2000-0086. Very rare plant almost never available.
