The glossy leaves curve up slightly towards the tips and have abundant concentric banding and random spotting of deep purple-brown. A rosy blush is evident in mature plants, unrelated to the blooming season. The wide cup flushes deep purple, fading to lavender then reddish as it extends far out the upper whorl of leaves.
