A very early hybrid by Mulford foster, from the 1940s, a cultivar of miniata v. discolor x victoriana v. discolor. An open rosette of arching, strap shaped leaves that are strongly discolor, green above and dark maroon below and very glossy. The nodding inflorescence consists of a panicle of orange berries with a couple of very short branches. Truly an old favorite that should be in every collection.
