A cultivar of a hybrid by Mark Dimmitt of Tillandsia ferreyrae x bulbosa, named by Bill Timm. Most resembling the bulbosa parent, but much larger with more leaves. This plant is dramatic looking with a bulbous base that is ‘egg shaped’, about 2 to 3 inches thick. The base is somewhat darkened, brown to almost black and the leaves, which are terete and taper to a fine point are green with a slight gray wash of trichomes.
The inflorescence is branched on a short scape, not quite as tall as the leaves. The braches and the leaf-like scape bracts blush bright red at anthesis. Flowers are two-tone, blue and white or pale lavender and blue.

An interesting cross of kegeliana x rothii for which we have little information. The plant most certainly show strong influence of the rothii parent with an open rosette shape of wide, fairly stiff leaves and a branched inflorescence of inflated branches. The kegeliana doesn’t manifest itself much but definitely makes the plant look a lot different than a pure rothii. The flowers are white.
Tillandsia 'Shining Star'is a striking cross of recurvifolia x tectorum with silvery-gray soft leaves that form a full rosette. The inflorescence is deep pink with slightly lavender flowers.
A hybrid of (bulbosa x streptophylla) by Mark Dimmitt. This interesting plant could be described as a larger bulbosa-type plant with broader, more twisted leaves. Or, as a streptophylla-type plant with shiny and deeply channeled leaves. In other words, a good split of characteristics of both parents.
This hybrid is sometimes found as a natural cross in Guatemala. Grows well mounted, easily forming large clusters of plants.
Received the plant in a timely manner, it was a nice size and as always I’m happy with my Tropiflora purchase.

C.I.T.E.S. - The xerographica parent makes this plant ineligible for shipping outside of the U.S. Sorry!
John Arden’s cultivar of (jaliscomonticola x xerographica) is nothing short of spectacular! A big, robust plant from two outstanding parents. Adapting the best characteristics of both, the leaves are moderately broad and tapering, arching in a 24 inch, silver rosette.
The inflorescence is massive, a tall scape with long, leaf-like, silvery scape bracts. A cluster of five or six inch long branches are mostly upright, red on the bottoms and yellow or yellow-green on top. Flowers are blue.
The plant will stay in bloom and color for most of a year. It is also said that this plant can be found as a natural hybrid in its Southwestern Mexican habitat. For lovers of large Tillandsias, this is a must-have!

An excellent hybrid of concolor x fasciculata, by Steve Correale. A stiff leaved, twelve inch open rosette of tapering, pointed leaves, silvery on both sides, blushing blackish towards the tips in bright light. The inflorescence is a simple, sword-shaped spike of glossy red to slightly orange or yellow towards the base. Silver trichomes on the spike cause it to look pinker in color. Very long lasting in bloom.
An attractive hybrid of (ionantha x chiapensis) by John Arden. As with most ionantha hybrids, it shows very strong characteristics of that species. A very leafy open rosette to about 8 or 10 inches tall with a pinkish blush to the scurfy, silvery leaves. The inflorescence is very colorful, a cluster of bright red branches nested deep in the center, with large, tubular, inky-blue flowers. Very pretty and easy to grow. Likes to be on the dry side.

A cultivar of chiapensis x xerographica by John Arden. One of the most dramatic of all Tillandsia hybrids not only for its size but its form and color. Growing in a widely spreading open rosette to over 24 inches across, with gracefully arching, silvery leaves of heavy substance. The inflorescence is tall with up to ten or so thick branches starting just above the rosette. The rachis is glabrous, dark pink and the branches are pink at the base, turning green towards the tips and dusted with silvery trichomes. Very long lasting in color. No known cultural problems, but it is a slow grower.
I am very happy with Tropiflora for many reasons. One the plants are really well grown. Two they are well packaged for shipping. Three they arrive without delay. Four they have a large selection. High five to them!

A nice looking plant with bulbous base and terete leaves that curve gracefully downward. A cultivar of (intermedia x caputmedusae) by noted Tillandsia breeder Mark Dimmitt and named by Paul Isley.
The foliage is silvery and the inflorescence; multi-branched, bright red with purple flowers, is long lasting a showy. Forms clusters of plants in time and is especially easy to grow.
An apparent natural hybrid of (streptophylla x paucifolioides) named by Bill Timm. Bulbous based with pinkish-tinted, silvery leaves that curl inward or are deeply channeled, and an inflorescence of silvery branches and pink scape bracts. Very attractive.
A perfect hybrid. Halfway between both parents (brachycaulos x concolor), this fine hybrid has the shape of a concolor with fairly stiff leaves, but a glabrous sheen like brachycaulos. At anthesis it blushes red with a short scape with long, stiff bracts and short red branches bearing deep violet flowers. Highly recommended.
love the colors on this one. So pretty
I attached to a piece of driftwood and its just so pretty
