Neoregelia 'Emerald City'
2410
This beautiful hybrid from the hand of the late Jim Elmore is a cultivar of cruenta (rubra) x chlorosticta Hyb. #418'. Trying to achieve colorful plants that do not need to be in bloom to be at their best, this is one of his success stories. A medium to large green plant with a symmetrical shape of stiff leaves, bearing a net-like pattern of red. The mottled pattern is very evident, but very delicate.

Neoregelia kautskyi
594
A species plant, kautskyi has one of the most unusual colorations of any bromeliad. When grown ‘hard’, that is without excess fertilizer and in bright locations (up to full sun!) it takes on a vivid yellow color, with dark burgundy concentric bands. Very stunning and well suited to landscape use. Mature plants are about 15 to 20 inches across. Native to the Atlantic Forest of Eastern Brazil.

Have always loved this variety. Any yellow variety is an eye catcher. Of course, great service and shipping.
Arrived today in excellent condition, all the way from Florida to Colorado. A lovely plant and much larger than I expected. I am very pleased.
Neoregelia 'Vulcan' x Oeser 418
4000
Glowing coppery-red best describes the color of this vivid compact Neo. Some red speckling in the leaves give it character and the small size of 10 to 12 inches lets it fit nicely on your garden room shelf.

Neoregelia 'Ed Prince'
725
A new Chester Skotak release for 2012 was actually a cultivar of (Punctate Red x Hannibal Lector) that Chester made in 2002. A plant reminiscent of N. ampullacea in general size and shape, that has a pattern of reddish bars over a yellowish green base color above and reddish below. The marginal spines are quite stout and black and the leaf tips are apiculate.
A good terrarium plant and forms a nice cluster in a pot or basket. Named in honor of the late Ed Prince, a prominent bromeliad collector from Miami.

A neat little Skotak hybrid of (carolinae x olens ‘Marie’) x (olens ‘Marie’ x carolinae ‘Shadowlawn’) that forms compact 6 to 8 inch rosettes of light green leaves, variegated nicely with bright white. A cherry red center flush, red tips and a suffusion of tiny red speckles and random blotches make this a very attractive plant.
