A large rosette to 20 inch diameter and 20 inches tall. Numerous, recurving, narrow, glossy dark maroon leaves, tapering to a sharp point and edged with large, hooked white spines. Erect, branched inflorescence to 5 feet tall with both the main stem and up to 6 lateral stems bearing vermillion orange, cupped flowers.
