A neat little plant from the scrub forests in the southern cone of South America. Ball-like clusters the size of melons are not uncommon in nature but one rarely sees such specimens in cultivation. The individual plants are tiny, about one inch, with stiff and contorted leaves. Usually an epiphyte, often a ‘twig epiphyte’, but sometimes found as a saxicole on rocks or cliffs. In cultivation it enjoys pure water and good air circulation.
