This is a very unusual, Tillandsia-like Stigmatodon (formerly Vriesea) with very slender, stiff, needle-like foliage that is green with gray trichomes and black leaf bases. It has the superficial look of a Tillandsia juncea but with thicker leaves in a bit more open shape. The inflorescence is a simple spike that is nodding with large, flaring white flowers that open at night and are probably bat or moth pollinated. Found as a lithophyte in Espirito Santo.
