A scandent or creeping vine with succulent leaves that are somewhat ‘teardrop shaped’. The common names of Sting of Tears or String of Beads referrers to the shape of the leaves spaced on a slender stem. The stem roots at the nodes but is not a climber, instead does well in a hanging pot. A desert dweller from Namibia, it has green leaves in cultivation but in nature the color is darker, bluish or gray-green with translucent, longitudinal stripes. Flowers are on short stems. An easy grower that does not like to be overwatered in winter.
