A plant that has been in cultivation for years but the typical form is yellow. This clone has solid dark red leaves and no color change at anthesis, a clone that our information says was collected by Mulford Foster, no location given. We are not sure where this plant was collected but interestingly enough, Bob Wilson, an early bromeliad nurseryman, collected the type specimen in Southeastern Bahia, Brazil. Leave it to his friend Mulford Foster to one-up him by finding a red form! A stoloniferous species who’s offsets start out slender then become wider at maturity. Nice for hanging pots or mounting.
