This is the clone of eleutheropetala that was once considered meeana, but that name has been dropped. An epiphyte in the Amazon basin, it has a stoloniferous habit and a bulbous base with wide, tapering leaves that are heavily spined. The cup at anthesis is broad with many spreading white flowers with narrow petals. This plant does best in a hanging basket or even mounted because of its stoloniferous nature. Brighter light will bring out red coloration. A dramatic looking plant.
