This is a plant that came to us without a definite name some years ago. It has grown well and produced well but has not bloomed, so getting a good identification has not been possible. The name as we have it as now is Hechtia cf. argentea, which means that it is very similar to argentea and may be argentea.

However, this plant produces offsets and argentea does not, so the name is most likely not accurate. It is a medium grower with fairly narrow, succulent leaves bearing fairly large white spines along the margins. The leaves are coated with silver trichomes, giving the plant a silvery appearance that increases with age.
