If few Fosterellas are of horticultural interest, this one is an exception! Dennis collected this remarkable species in Bolivia, above the Rio Azio, near the spot where the Bolivian army ambushed and killed Che Guevara, the Cuban revolutionary. Aside from all this great historical value, it is a lovely plant to boot! The foliage is light green with wide leaves in a spreading rosette. The inflorescence is remarkable because the many lovely coral colored flowers are tubular and hang like little bells, the only such flowers in the genus, an hummingbird pollinated.

This plant was originally collected by Dennis Cathcart on travels in Bolivia.
