This Richard Lum hybrid, a cultivar of unknown parentage, has a giant open oval over 24" diameter - leaf surface has a transparent effect with mottling of light to almost black green - in bright light the surface is nearly covered with deep blood red and black - faint silver crossbands and densely white beneath.

This Cryptanthus is a grex mate to or synonymous with 'Volcano.'
