This hybrid from the 1970's by German nurseryman Hans Gulz is a cultivar of bivittatus x zonatus. A medium plant mottled red and green with silver barring, a rosy cast concentrated in longitudinal bands both along the margins and the median of the leaf. When grown side by side to Cryptanthus 'Racinae,' the same cross by Mulford Foster some 20 years earlier, 'Feuerzauber' has a little wider leaves and has more barring, than a zigzag barring like 'Racinae' has. The name is German for "fire magic."
