An unusual Brazilian species that has been around in landscapes and collections for years, but has never been common. A beauty with an open rosette shape of wide, light green, mottled leaves that taper to a sharp point.
Blushing with pink in strong light, it also develops a dark reddish pink flush on the leaves from the tips inward about one third to one half their length during the blooming season. This is a very unusual and stunning effect. The inflorescence is a club shaped or spherical head with small, greenish-white flowers.
Self sterile, it is hummingbird pollinated.
