The plant grows larger than either parent, to about four feet across and nearly three feet tall in a leafy rosette of arching green leaves with red margins and substantial red spines. The leaves are tough and fairly stiff, three inches wide at the base, tapering to a fine point. In strong light the entire plant can blush bright red. The inflorescence is up to nearly six feet tall, a many branched panicle, reddish-orange overall orange-yellow flowers. Unlike the Deuterocohnia parent, the inflorescence is not perennial.
