At first glance, this magnificent plant from Brazil more closely resembles an Orthophytum, Dyckia or other terrestrial bromeliad than any typical Forzzaea. A slow grower that has stiff, sharply recurving, silvery leaves with very large marginal spines. The foliage bears the impressions of other leaves, forming a diamond-like pattern down the center of each leaf. Cultivation is not difficult, but some care should be taken not to over water or expose to too cool temps. It prefers to remain well above 60 degrees, in bright but indirect light.
