A variable species widespread in rocky areas of Brazil’s caatinga and cerrado environments. Mostly a group of very stiff leaved plants with an upright, somewhat bulbous shape that grow in full or nearly full sun as lithophytes. This clone had unusually shiny leaves of very heavy substance and a dark reddish-brown coloration on the underside of the leaves and green on top.

Light pink, apiculate leaf tips and the classic bulbous shape are typical of the species along with very large, deep lavender flowers. Grows best in a fast draining soil and drier, brightly lit growing conditions.
