A nice, rather upright spineless plant with a pink cast to the foliage, bold creamy-white variegation and a deep red center flush at anthesis. Forms an attractive clump with many offsets on short stolons.

A Neo. ‘Fireball‘ x carolinae ‘Dwarf’ hybrid, at about 10 inches is larger than the original ‘Fireball’, and flushes a nice red in strong light. Good in terrariums and its stoloniferous habit makes this a particularly good subject for hanging basket culture. Popular with landscapers.

A larger clone of this familiar species, can reach over 12 inches across. An open rosette shape with light green leaves red speckled and red banded on the upper and lower sides. Red leaf tips and moderate spines finish the look. Used widely in many hybrids.

An interesting stoloniferous plant with stiff greenish-coppery leaves in an open rosette. The center cup flushes orange when in bloom and the stoloniferous habit makes an interesting cluster.

Neoregelia laevis (BAB 235)

A somewhat variable species that is not widely cultivated, but definitely has merit. A medium sized plant that can reach about 24 inches across with inch and a half wide leaves that bear deep purple, apiculate tips, rimmed in pink. The color is dependent on light intensity, but in bright shade, it is yellowish and pinkish at the same time, rather unusual.
This is a clone collected in Brazil by Wally Berg and John Anderson and bears their code of (BAB 235).

An 8 to 10 inch, stoloniferous rosette, with light green leaves, speckled with red and a cherry red center flush at anthesis. Neoregelia species Brazil

This plant came from a collector in Brazil and we do not have any data on it related to locality. It does resemble plants in the group of Neos going as carcharodon of one sort or another. A medium grower to 20 inches across or so, with wide leaves in a stacked up rosette shape. The leaves are fairly thick and leathery with stout marginal spines, light green blushing coppery pink and suffused with reddish speckles and a black leaf tips ending in a hook like spine.

A nice plant that resembles a small N. cruenta in shape and coloration. Stiff, light green leaves with red tips form 8 to 10 inch funnel form rosettes on short stolons. A ‘thumb print’ marks the base of the leaf.
