Neoregelia 'Spanish Sunset' is a medium to large growing hybrid from Australian hybridizer Shane Zaghini. Light yellow green leaves which are covered with red mottling throughout. The center of the plant turns red at anthesis. A single rosette can mature at 20 inches across. Grows best in bright filtered light.

An Australian hybrid from Shane Zaghini, Neoregelia 'Spotted Night' is a loose rosette to 12 inches, with fairly broad green leaves, strongly banded below with dark purple.

A cultivar of ampullacea x tigrina by W. Morris. This is a great little plant with the characteristics that make it hot for hybridizers. A miniature, about 6 inches tall in an upright, stoloniferous rosette, with light green leaves heavily barred below with dark reddish-maroon.

The bars and bands show through the leaf from below. The green base color will turn yellow with strong light and the red bands become much brighter too. The plant was a favorite of our late friend Wally Berg.

A larger clone of this familiar species, can reach over 12 inches across. An open rosette shape with light green leaves red speckled and red banded on the upper and lower sides. Red leaf tips and moderate spines finish the look. Used widely in many hybrids.

A choice form that should be registered. (Maybe we will). Depending on how it’s grown, can be very ampoule-shaped with short leaves or a little more open in a vase shape. Green with dark reddish brown banding, stronger on the undersides of the leaf. Grows on short stolons, forming attractive clumps and perfect for mounting or for decorative containers or baskets.

A small growing hybrid by Michael Kiehl. Burgundy red with green spots and blotches. Matures at 7 inches tall. Offsets are produced on long stolons. Looks best in a hanging pot or mounted.

Similar species to compacta, but larger and (we think) nicer. A large grower with light green, slightly mottled, spineless leaves which flush deep red with white speckles in the center when blooming. Pups are stoloniferous and upright.

A small sized, colorful, stoloniferous hybrid, with green leaves that tint yellow with red tips, in strong light. The center blushes cherry red when in bloom and the plants form attractive clusters.

This cute little stoloniferous miniature has apple green leaves with cherry red tips. The leaf undersides have some gray scurf and light banding. Nice for mounting or a hanging pot due to its stoloniferous habit.

This plant came from a collector in Brazil and we do not have any data on it related to locality. It does resemble plants in the group of Neos going as carcharodon of one sort or another. A medium grower to 20 inches across or so, with wide leaves in a stacked up rosette shape. The leaves are fairly thick and leathery with stout marginal spines, light green blushing coppery pink and suffused with reddish speckles and a black leaf tips ending in a hook like spine.

A nice plant that resembles a small N. cruenta in shape and coloration. Stiff, light green leaves with red tips form 8 to 10 inch funnel form rosettes on short stolons. A ‘thumb print’ marks the base of the leaf.

An uncommon plant that is not yet widely represented in collections, Neoregelia x correiaaraujoi albomarginated is an enigmatic species considered by some to be a natural hybrid of Neo. johannis and marmorata. It is, however, listed in the binomials and is still an ‘official’ species.

A large growing plant from the southern regions of the Atlantic Forest of Brazil, the rosette can be nearly 4 feet across with leaves 6 inches wide, light green with red mottling, pale above, stronger below, and red leaf tips. In bright light or even full sun it becomes much more compact.

Our clone is a albomarginated, with a wide creamy white stripe up the leaf margins.
