One of the Amazonian Aechmeas that was formerly a Streptocalyx (colombianus v. laxus) has rather narrow gray-green spiny leaves in an arching rosette. The vivid inflorescence is a tall cone-like spike of short branches exceeded by wide crimson bracts, tipped in white. Beautiful when in bloom!
