Tillandsia 'Little Thunder'
2816
An especially cute little hybrid by Paul Isley. A cultivar of Tillandsia pueblensis x ionantha. Like most Tillandisa hybrids with ionantha, it tends to favor that species. However, it does have a good resemblance to the pueblensis parent with longer, thicker leaves. The overall shape is upright with a long stem and three inch, deeply channeled leaves tapering to a point growing upright along the stem. The color is deep green dusted with abundant silvery trichomes.
The inflorescence, deep rose in color, is a short, upright, scape rising slightly above the foliage. Flowers are deep blue. Forms clusters and will tint slightly in bright light but does not blush when blooming. A great little plant.
Tillandsia 'Long John'

A nice hybrid of apparently (pseudobaileyi x intermedia) by an unknown hybridizer and registered by Bill Timm. Larger than either parent, it grows to about 18 inches tall. The leaves are terete, green and slightly silvery and the base is bulbous. The inflorescence is most like that of pseudobaileyi, erect, stiff, laxly branched and pink with silver trichomes.

Tillandsia 'Long Tall Sally'
9637
Our newest variegated collector plant, Tillandsia 'Long Tall Sally'! The name was inspired by Little Richard (we are fans of the "oldies" here at Tropiflora). This plant originated here at the nursery, found in the greenhouse alongside the non-variegated forms. First offered at auction during the 2024 World Bromeliad Conference in West Palm Beach, FL.
Not recommended for beginners.
(x smalliana 'Giant Form' variegated)
I love it! It's a very well grown green plant with beautiful light green stripes all over the leaves.
Tillandsia 'Love Knot'

A hybrid of (capitata x streptophylla). An extraordinary beauty that takes on a bulbous shape with wide, recurving, curling leaves coated with silvery scurf.
The inflorescence is fairly short with long, curling scape bracts and a tightly clustered head of red branches and light blue flowers. The whole plant takes on a reddish-peach blush at anthesis. A choice plant.

Beautiful plant! Excellent service. Thanks.

Tillandsia lenca (formerly fasciculata 'Hondurensis') x capitata 'Yellow' SC
A nice plant by Steve Correale with an open rosette, blushing to almost red when in bloom. Leaves are bright green with some scurffing, slightly curved. The inflorescence has yellow branched spikes and pink flower tubes.
Tillandsia 'Madre'

This hybrid by Bill Timm is a cultivar of (chiapensis x roland-gosselinii). One of those ‘dream crosses’ using two fantastic plants as parents and getting stunning results. The hybrid is right down the line between the two, taking on the silver leaves and inflorescence shape of the chiapensis parent and the size, and inflorescence coloration closer to the roland-gosselinii parent. Reaching a full 30 inches across, the plant is impressive for size alone, but can also stay in bloom for months. A great plant.
