Rarely does such a special plant come along. This is a dramatically variegated form of the Guatemalan plant known variously as 'Rio Hondo', cf. capitata, capitata ‘Peach’ and other names, but is a spectacular and easy to cultivate plant. This amazing sport came about from a plant with a few variegated leaves. The next generation produced normal plants and one perfectly variegated specimen. To see what a typical blooming plant would look like; visit our product #144 to see a non-variegated plant in bloom.

Care of this species is easy, it is a warm grower with no special needs, best kept in bright indirect light, watered ‘normally’ or about once or twice a week and fed from time to time. The variegation in on every leaf, so this plant should produce 100% variegated offshoots and you can usually expect about five from a plant this size. A one of a kind prize!
