A dark purple-bracted form of the species. The scape to about 24 inches has lateral branches and long, recurving scape bracts tipped in purple. The name 'Mora' is 'blackberry' in Spanish, no doubt a reference to the color of the bracts. Easy to grow potted in the manner of a Vriesea or Guzmania. Grows warm to intermediate, enjoys bright indirect light but can grow in quite low light as well. A mesic plant that needs to be kept moist. Non blooming plant good in a terrarium or blooming ones in a tall enclosure.
