A large and robust plant with a span of up to 30 inches and fairly stiff 4 to 5 inches wide leaves boldly variegated with creamy white. The glossy leaves curve up slightly towards the tips and have abundant concentric banding and random spotting of deep purple-brown. A rosy blush is evident in mature plants, unrelated to the blooming season. The wide cup flushes deep purple, fading to lavender then reddish as it extends far out the upper whorl of leaves. Named by the Australian contingent at the last Australian Bromeliad Conference in Auckland, New Zealand.
