The definitive strap-leaf Anthurium. This plant grows pendant, with leaves that easily can reach 6 feet long and yet, barely 2 inches wide! This particular clone with incredibly long leaves, is one which my late friend Wally Berg and I collected on the Amazon River in Peru's Loreto state, near Leticia, Colombia, some years ago. As an aside to this story, in that same village in the photo, Wally cracked some ribs when the ladder to the Ticuna Indian hut we were staying in broke. Myself, I slipped on the river bank next morning and cracked my neck, something that required surgery on our return home. Isn't collecting fun!
