A close relative of Wallisia cyanea, Wallisia lindenii is native to the wet forests of northern Peru. It differs from cyanea chiefly in its larger size and long, sword shaped inflorescence. The color of the inflorescence is still deep pink in good light and the flowers deep blue to purple and fragrant. This species is rather rare in collections.
