This is a rare small growing species native to Cuba. A lithophytic plant living on limestone outcrops and cliffs in Pinar del Rio province, near Los Hoyos. About the size of a large T. ionantha, it also resembles a T. pruinosa in shape. The leaves are fairly soft and silvery, with large trichomes. The inflorescence is capitate, but remains short, producing lavender-pink flowers. Culture is as with any typical Tillandsia, mounted, in bright indirect light. A jewel for rare plant lovers.
