A species from the Atlantic rainforest of Espírito Santo State Brazil, once a Cryptanthus now placed in a new genus Rokautskyia, draws attention with its very broad white petal blades and the strongest flower fragrance ever reported in the complex. A medium sized plant from 14 to 18-inches in an open round rosette. This species can be differentiated from others in the genus by the production of slender basal rhizomes. The leaves are smooth above and completely covered beneath by coarse white scales. The margins distinctly undulate and densely serrulate with spines.
