An attractive species from Java that forms large clumps with upswept, deeply lobbed, shield fronds and long fertile fronds that can hang six feet or more, bifurcating several times toward their lower ends. Somewhat slow growing, but not as tender as you may have heard. We grow plants which we brought back from Pacet, Java, outdoors, unprotected, and we have had some recent cold winters with no visible damage. The plant pictured on a tree below is growing outside of our office here in Sarasota.
