An African species that has been given the name ‘Cabbage Fern’; because of its upswept and out turned sterile fronds which, supposedly, resemble a cabbage. The fertile fronds are undivided and are characteristically lobed, with prominently raised veins. Native to seasonally wet central and eastern Africa including the Congo Basin. Grows best in bright shade with ample water in the growing season and drier in the dormant season. Does not like to dry out completely.
